The gourmet sector meets again at the VI Gourmet Night

The Catalan Gourmet Night, the benchmark meeting point for the gourmet food sector in Catalonia, was held yesterday.
After a very complicated year and a half for the world of catering and gastronomy, the Mas Marroch of the Roca brothers has dressed up this Wednesday to celebrate the sixth annual meeting of the Catalan gourmet product professionals.


This is the celebration of the CATALAN GOURMET PRODUCT, where the main guests are retail, large-scale distribution and gourmet restaurants, and where the novelties of the CATALONIA GOURMET members, their products, their innovation, their origin and their link to the territory are promoted.
Mr. Àngel Velasco, CEO of Turrones Vicens, as president of the Cluster, was present at this special evening and offered a few words to all attendees.
Montserrat Fontané, mother of the Roca brothers, has been awarded the Catalan Gourmet of the Year 2021 for her long career in the kitchen of Can Roca. Her son Josep Roca collected the award on her behalf, and from the hand of the Very Honourable President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, her son Josep Roca. "He is an example of inspiration for the whole Bodega de Can Roca family", remarked the middle of the three geniuses from Girona and none of La Bodega's dining room staff.
The magazine Cocina, which received the award for its business trajectory in the year that marks 20 years since its creation, was also honoured by the Regional Minister for Climate Action, Agriculture and Food, Teresa Jordà. Huerto del Silencio has been awarded for business growth in innovation in healthy and organic local products and Bodega Vallformosa for business growth in internationalisation, supported by digital strategy.
In this sixth edition, and in the incomparable setting of MAS MARROCH LA BODEGA DE CAN ROCA, there were more than 40 brands exhibiting, a space for meeting and networking with the sector, a gala presentation of the Catalan Gourmet of the Year Award (in recognition of the appreciation and promotion of the Catalan gourmet product) as well as the tasting of the cocktail prepared by LA BODEGA DE CAN ROCA with CATALONIA GOURMET products.

"The product is not only the one we taste, but also the one behind it", said the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonés, while stressing that the food sector is "key" to the country. He referred to producers, haute cuisine restaurants, but also to all the members of the Catalan food sector: "We have the potential to be a gastronomic power with value".
