Angel Velasco, owner of Torrons Vicens, has participated this morning as a speaker at a business conference on foreign trade in Lleida, organized by Cajamar Caja Rural and Institute of Foreign Trade – ICEX.
During the meeting, which has focused on the instruments and tools for internationalizing firms, Angel Velasco has talked about Vicens Torrons experience in the international projection of the brand and selling nougats abroad.
When the crisis started in Spain, the company firmly valued the option of opening up to foreign markets and to get nougat consume out of the winter season. For 6 years, the company has been growing annually a 20%, and 24% of production is exported to over 10 countries including France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal, England, Lithuania, and outside the EU countries like the United States, Colombia, China and Russia.
The Torrons Vicens internationalization strategy is based on product innovation, on the opening of 36 stores and franchised stores in the main tourist areas of the country, offering a quality product to tourists; on the opening of stores overseas as Perpignan, Dubai and Moscow (soon two new stores will be opened in Paris); on nougat selling through the online shop; and on the presence at international fairs to promote the brand worldwide.
